This information system is the result of the research project entitled Establishment of a digital information system on the historic evolution of transport networks, associated to a postgraduate course, which was awarded to the University of Cordoba (Spain) in the call for tenders for R&D contracts co-founded with European Regional Development Funds (ERDF), organised by the Regional Ministry of Development and Housing of Andalusia in 2011.
The idea is to bring public works closer to the general population, with content that is also interesting for experts. We therefore combine sources of historic information about public works in Andalusia, which were assigned to the system by the Regional Ministry of Development and Housing for their electronic storage and publication, with three series of videos which technically describe, albeit in lay language, different aspects related to public works. The three series are complementary and were designed for the public to understand the social function of public works and the complexity of their design and construction.
