The description of films is very tedious and the diversity of legal rights involved considerably complicates their reproduction. Furthermore, most of the films from the Film Archive required negative cleaning and transfer to telecine mode. The films from the Ministry of Development were already in electronic format (VHS, Betacam and U-Matic), so their reproduction was much simpler.
In the Spanish Film Archive, we studied the public deposits, the NO-DO and National Tourism Trust productions. The public deposits include material from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Industry, the Directorate General of Roads, the Spanish Naval Construction Society and several private producers. The study of material from the Spanish railway company, RENFE, and from Spanish television, is pending, as it requires different treatment because the rights of use are not controlled by the Spanish Film Archive.
The Ministry of Development’s material was reviewed and we have all the images related to Andalusia without constraint.
The descriptive information included in this database follows the cataloguing standards of the International Federation of Film Archives. A total of 103 films are available.
