Site Visits
The aim of these visits is to help the public relate with the public works that surround them, focusing also on a specific infrastructure. Each episode was filmed after original historic research clarifying the circumstances in which it was planned and built.
The site visits are short films lasting approximately ten minutes, in which we visit an infrastructure with the person who planned it or managed its construction, who explains what, in his or her opinion, are the most significant details. The idea is to capture the emotional link that is usually found between an author and his/her work, so all the technical explanations, as they are given by the person who conceived them, are easily understandable.
This series is based on a format used by the Regional Government of Andalusia’s Public Works Research Programme, which in 2009 had filmed two episodes with this title that had not been published (Visit to the Seville-Cadiz motorway, with Antonio Rodríguez, Carlos Rodríguez and Ángel Tavira, and Visit to the Villanueva de la Reina bridge with Ramón del Cuvillo). Four new episodes have been prepared (The Posadas bridge over the Guadalquivir with José Antonio Torroja, Algeciras market with Rafael López Palanco, The 5th Centennial bridge with Julio Martínez Calzón, The bridges over the River Guadalquivir in the city of Seville with GinésAparicio) and the entire series is published with English subtitles.
